Lecce

The Baroque masterpiece of southern Italy. Lecce has a lovely historic centre full of lanes and Baroque architecture, including a roman theatre and Amphitheatre. You can’t go to Lecce without trying the Pasticciotto a deliciously buttery, crumbly short crust Pastry filled with sweet thick lemon custard cream that is a specialty of the area.

Alborobello

This small town has been made a UNESCO World Heritage site for its unusual district of Trulli, the characteristic white-washed conical-roofed houses of the area. A shinning gem on the coast of the Valle d’Itria, perched atop a 20-metre-high limestone cliff above the crystal-clear water of the Adriatic. In recent years the town has hosted the famous Red Bull cliff diving competition.

Visiting Puglia

Puglia boasts a wonderful Mediterranean climate that makes it an excellent holiday destination for most of the year. Spring comes early and is generally warm and sunny, with a temperature rising to the early twenties by the end of April.

The Summer, is long, hot and dry and can last from the end of May through to the end of September. Temperatures typically rise to around 30C mark in July and August. The sea warms up wonderfully to the mid-20s, making swimming a pleasurable experience.

The Autumn, signaled by the arrival of October and November, remains generally warm with temperatures only really dropping out of the 20s towards the beginning of December.
